2.0 Troubleshooting gateway issues

If you suspect your system has gateway related issues there are two ways we can check the gateway status

2.1 Gateway health status from the portal

Go to the portal → Administration → Gateways → Check the health status indicator next to the Gateway name which displays the current health status of the Gateway in different colors as explained below;

Green

AWS IoT, LE Mesh and Internet connections are good

Yellow

One connection is down. It could be one of the following,

  • AWS IoT and Internet connections are good. LE Mesh - no data.

  • LE Mesh and Internet connections are good. AWS IoT is down.

Amber

Means internet connection is good but AWS IoT and LE Mesh are down.

Red

Internet connection is down.

2.2 LED on the top of the gateway

Check the color of the top of the gateway

Red/Blinking Yellow/Amber - The gateway is powered on. Unable to get connected to a stable internet connection. Kindly refer to this literature https://organicresponse.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/OCS/pages/466682598 to understand the network requirement of gateways and contact the network administrator if necessary. If the network checks are done correctly please contact ORT for further troubleshooting.

Solid yellow LED state - The disk of the gateway is becoming full, which means recovery or remote troubleshooting is only possible after a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset will wipe all data from the gateway and reinstall the operating system. If the gateway loses power during the re-install process, the installation might be corrupted and the gateway rendered inoperable. If performing a Factory Reset, do not remove power while the LED is solid yellow. The reset button will need to be held for longer than 30 seconds at the back of the gateway to perform a factory reset.
