Organic Response enabled solution has product and firmware version that help track how we release various features in our product. There are two particular ways of tracking that we use which corresponds to,

  1. Product version

  2. Firmware Version

This is a summarized view of the Organic Response released firmware version to help identify the features released in a particular firmware/product version.

1. Product Version

The product version number is associated to each sensor node once it is ready to ship out of production facility. Each product version number follows the same format as shown in example above 3.9.

2. Firmware Version

Each product version in turn corresponds to two further version numbers that are associated to firmware of the two products that make up as important components of sensor node.

  1. PIC

  2. Nordic

However Passive Product is made up of single component i.e. RF and will carry only a nordic version assocaited to it.

2.1. PIC

Each sensor node has a component called PIC which has firmware version associated to it e.g. 181. This is the same number that you would see in response to a firmware version query from the app. All major operational decisions are made by PIC when it comes to controlling the luminaires.

2.2. Nordic

Nordic is the component responsible for RF communication and utilizes Wirepas protocol. All reporting, BLE & relevant connected features are handled by Nordic. An example of Nordic firmware version would be e.g. 17. It is important to note that currently there is no way for a user to query this version number and is not usually required. Contact ORT in case you need to confirm.

NOTE on Intercompatibility: It is important to note that for RF connectivity (Wirepas mesh) and Nordic based solutions such as portal, API, BACnet the stack version is very important. In simple terms,

  1. 3.4.46 is compatible with 3.x however, 3.2 is not supported by Cascade gateways.

  2. All stack 4 nodes are compatible with any stack 4.x sensor nodes

  3. All stack 5 nodes are compatible with other stack 5.x sensor & passive nodes.

Whereas, irrespective of Nordic solution and stack versioning the lighting control operations are all compatible across 171 to the future versions over IR and can be used in any combination

The version shown below indicate the minimum required firmware version that can support the functionality. However, it is always recommended to refer to above table to see which finalized version addresses all the bugs related to any solution and should be deployed to suit your solution.
