1.0 Accessing OR infrared App

The remote app is a simple, intuitive user interface for optimizing an Organic Response lighting control system. An entire office of Organic Response Enabled luminaires can be optimised within minutes with the press of a few buttons.

The app is free to download from the App Store or Google Play and contains contextual help available with “i” icon visible within top right corner of each menu. Immediately following download of the app, log-in user your LinkedIn or Google Account to gain immediate access to “User” level features. Refer to contextual help through “i” icon which will include necessary information on each feature. The full range of configuration features are accessible only by “Configurator” level access.

1.1 Upgrade to Configurator

In order to request access in the App Settings menu from the top left menu bars of the app where it says access level click on the drop-down and select “Request to upgrade to configurator”.

Once you have generated a request, please create a service desk ticket using this Link and include the names/emails of the users to inform ORT to approve the access level request.

Please note we only accept the requests that come through a service desk ticket to ensure only the authorized personnel have the “Configurator” level access to the app.

In order to quickly get approval please contact your luminaire supplier.

1.2 The Infrared Dongle

The remote app communicates with Organic Response Enabled luminaires using a special infrared dongle (shown opposite). The dongle should be inserted into the audio jack of your device. If there is not audio jack available in your device, you can make use of converter e.g., a USB-C to 3.5mm jack. Always ensure that the dongle is pointing at the target luminaire’s Sensor Node when you are issuing instructions from the app. Remember to have your device volume always set to the highest when making use of the dongle. It is recommended to regularly charge your dongle.

The only noticeable difference between the two stores is that iOS devices support the query functionality while an android system does not.

2.0 OR Express App (BLE-enabled App)

We have a new Bluetooth-enabled app that is publicly available free for download in both google play or the app store. The app requires a compliant version of firmware running on the sensor node. If you are unsure, please contact your supplier and/or verify that in response to a firmware version query your sensor node responds with version 184 or higher.

This new app does not require any dongle to be used and can easily interface with Organic Response System directly via your device’s Bluetooth. Always remember to enable Bluetooth while using the app and ensure that your application has the necessary permissions to turn Bluetooth on while in use.

2.1 Upgrade to Configurator in Express App

If you are already a configurator level user in the IR app your access level in this app will automatically reflect the same access level provided you use the same login. For example, if your login is abc@gmail.com using login via LinkedIn you can continue to login via LinkedIn using the same email address.

However, if you are a first-time user, please login using your preferred login method. Once logged in your access level will be “User” which would give you limited access to some features. From the top right corner click on “Profile” icon where it says access level, click on the down arrow and “Request to Upgrade to Configurator”.
