OR App

A. Maximum light level (MaxLight)

To change the maximum light output of a luminaire:

  • Go to the Light Output screen on the remote app (See Figure Light output screen).

  • Point the dongle towards the Sensor Node that controls the light you want to dim:

    • 1 Press Dim+ or Dim-, to reach the required level of dimming; or

    • 2 Select a dimming level from the dropdown list Dimming Levels.

  • When you have reached the required dim level, press 3 Set Max. This sets the maximum level of this light only.

  • If you want all lights in the area to have the same MaxLight setting, then press 4 Relay, and confirm.

  • Visually check that Sensor Nodes have received the command by checking that the sensor domes in the area have illuminated red.

The luminaire(s) will still dim up and down based on occupancy information and daylight (if enabled), but it will not go over the new maximum setting.

Things to note about light level:

  • Be careful when setting lights to a lower dim level. International standards require particular light levels to be reached in most areas of a building. Lowering the dim level may result in a light level that is too low.

You can also modify the LowLight and MinLight settings following a similar procedure. Please refer to the User Guide for more information on the benefits of changing these settings.

B. Revert to Auto Mode

The system could have entered an unwanted scene or dim level. You can send a relay Revert to Auto Mode command (See figure Light Output Screen, button 6). The Relay button will send the command to all lights in its zone. The Revert to Auto Mode button will only send it to a single light.

If you don’t have Configurator access, go to the simulated wall switch via the top right 3-bar icon and select ‘Auto/On’. This will send the Auto/On command to all lights in its zone.

C. Dwell Time

The Dwell Time is the time it takes before the luminaire dims down once occupancy is no longer detected.

To change the Dwell Time;

  • Go to the Dwell Time screen on the remote app (See Figure Dwell time screen).

  • Point the dongle towards the sensor and Select the desired 1 Dwell Time.

  • If you want all lights in the area to have the same Dwell Time setting, then press 2 Relay, and confirm.

  • Visually check that Sensor Nodes have received the command by checking that the sensor domes in the area have illuminated red.

The new Dwell Time is now active.

Things to note about Dwell Time;

  • Generally, a lower Dwell Time will save more energy because lights will switch off quicker once occupants have left the space. However, if the Dwell Time is too short, the lights could switch off while occupants are still in the space.

  • As a guide, in a well occupied open plan office, 5 minutes Dwell Time is usually sufficient to avoid the lights switching off. In a small office or meeting room, 15 minutes is more appropriate. A store room or amenities areas can usually have a short Dwell Time of 2 minutes.

  • If you do find lights are switching off while occupants are present, increase the Dwell Time.

You can also modify the LowLight Time setting following a similar procedure. Please refer to the User Guide for more information on the benefits of changing this setting.

D. Personality

The Personality defines the light output as a function of the distance between a light and an occupant (See Figure Personalities).

To change the Personality:

  • Go to the Personality screen on the remote app (See figure Personality screen).

  • Point the dongle towards the sensor and 1 Select the desired Personality.

  • If you want all lights in the area to have the same Personality setting, then press 2 Relay, and confirm.

  • Visually check that Sensor Nodes have received the command by checking that the sensor domes in the area have illuminated red.

The new personality is now active.

Things to note about Personality:

  • A ‘narrow’ personality such as Super Saver (See Figure Personalities) will save more energy. A ‘wider’ personality will provide occupants with a wider pool of light. Generally, the super saver personality is suitable for open plan office situations.

  • Choose the name of the personality that most closely matches the space in which the lights are installed.

Please refer to the User Guide for more information on the available personalities and the benefits of changing this setting.
