9.2. Building Administration

A building setup involves setting up several parameters from a settings page in the Response portal. The administration page is accessible by the settings icon available next to building name when you click on the building name. A building setup is completed before handover of the project i.e. as part of the commissioning process. A set of parameters can be changed at any stage to reflect any relevant changes and these parameters include:

9.2.1. Building

9.2.1.1 Building Credentials

Create / edit a custom name, enter address & add photograph for your building.

Please note that timezone should only be changed prior to adding any Response nodes & gateways to the Response portal. If changed after the data will become unavailable

9.2.1.2 Broadcast BLE Command

Send a broadcast BLE Command to Query, Enable or Disable BLE scanning.

The command you send will be broadcasted to all the Response nodes (mapped/unmapped) in the building network through the gateways added in the building.

9.2.1.2.1 Query BLE Scanning

Choose Query BLE scanning and click 'Broadcast BLE command’ to enable BLE scanning in the whole building and this will be followed by a new pop up window with the following warning. Please remember to query BLE scanning status to get the updated status in the Response node page.

9.2.1.2.2 Enable BLE Scanning

Choose enable BLE scanning and click 'Broadcast BLE command’ to enable scanning in the whole building and this will be followed by a new pop up window with the following warning. Please remember to query BLE scanning status to get the updated status in the Response node page.

9.2.1.2.3 Disable BLE scanning

Choose Disable BLE scanning and click 'Broadcast BLE command’ to disable BLE scanning in the whole building and this will be followed by a new pop up window with the following warning. Please remember to query BLE scanning status to get the updated status in the Response node page.

9.2.2. Gateways

Add, remove, or update the gateway credentials in the building. You can also export the gateway details into excel simply by clicking on the ‘Extract Gateway Report’ button.

9.2.3. Floors

Add/remove floor plans after adding floors to a building. Remember changing a floor plan would cause loss of correct positioning of any previously mapped Response nodes on the floor. Upload the image in the right format, with naming conventions and in correct size restriction which will appear in the pop up if the uploaded image has incorrect format, name or file size.

9.2.4. Users

An administrator can invite other users with their email addresses. This page also displays a list of current users with their access levels and a list of invitations sent.

9.2.4.1 Users list

In the above screenshot the left window indicate the list of users. This list will include information such as

  1. Name of the user

  2. Their Email address, and

  3. All the roles assigned to them.

Once the invitee accepts the Response portal invitation sent by the building administrator the user name and the information will appear in this list here.

9.2.4.2 Invitations

From the above screenshot the right half window will be used to keep track of invitations. This list will have useful information such as

  1. Emails addresses of the invitees

  2. Time the invitation was generated, and

  3. The invitation token is generated against an invite.

Alternatively you can generate the invitation link manually for the invitees by following the steps below

  1. Copy the invitation token generated against an invite from the Invitations list.

  2. Replace the word “Token” in the following URL with the token generated for the given invite.

  3. The invitee can use this link to get access to the Response portal building

9.2.5. Roles & Permissions

Custom definition of access permissions that can be created for different user access levels only through admin access. A roles can be defined to have custom permission listed below, and shown in below image

  • All – Admin Access checks all available access permissions.

  • View – View only permission

  • Analytics – access to analytics page

  • High Resolution Analytics – GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is made compliant by giving customer the ability to enable to disable high resolution data along with live feature of the Response portal. For example the light status that appears when you hover your mouse over a Response SN3 in analytics page and 5 minutes data bins are disabled if this option is un-checked in permissions.

  • Control Lights - Allows you to control light settings

  • Nodes – access to Response nodes page, make changes e.g., add, edit map/Unmap & tag Response nodes. As well as, access ‘Map Response nodes’ page. Note this permission is tied internally to tagging permission hence to be checked with tags menu.

  • Floors – Add or edit floors.

  • Gateways – Add or edit gateway credentials.

  • BACnet Areas - Allows you to access BACnet integration page where you can assign areas into different BACnet devices.

  • Bluetooth Beacons - Access the Beacon Configuration menu to configure the Beacons.

  • Lighting Configuration - Allows you to access the lighting configuration page

  • Tags – Create and assign tags, note that it is tied internally to Response nodes menu, hence must be checked with Response nodes permission.

  • Users – Ability to add or edit / view users’ page.

  • Roles – Ability to access roles window, create and/or edit permissions.

  • Building – Access to building page useful in case of more than one building.

  • Schedules – Access to schedules page and ability to run, edit & add scheduled operation for lighting control systems.

  • Emergency Lighting – Access to emergency lighting menu

  • Circadian Curves - Ability to enable Circadian curves

  • Maintenance & maintenance updates – Both checked to receive maintenance updates for each floor via access email. The email is sent automatically when Response nodes are reported to be disconnected, or having faults or issues.

  • Manage Tenant - Ability to create and edit “tenant” for the building.

9.2.6. Emergency Lighting

This page allows user to configure 2 primary parameters related to Emergency Light Testing & Monitoring.

  1. Navigate to Emergency Lighting page to access the options as highlighted below

  2. Enable/disable the banner which contains information of “x number of tests failed out of total x devices“ in ELMT page on top of floor plan area.

  3. Upload an image or your company logo that can be added to the excel reports that you can export for past tests. When you hover your mouse on the image area and click it allows you to upload an image file.

  4. Once both or either of the above 2 changes are made press “save” for these changes to take effect.

 

9.2.7. Tenants

In this section you can manage the tenants by navigating to the ‘Tenants’ page as shown in the image below. The menu offers 2 options as shown by the 2 sections on the page,

  1. Tenants - where you can add/edit/remove tenants

  2. Tenant Users - where you can add/invite/remove users from a tenancy
